Ok so this is really cool (bad put totally intended), researchers at The University of Utah have stored data in the spin in the nuclei of atoms (http://www.sciencemag.org/content/330/6011/1652).
A few downs:
- They managed to store the data for 112 seconds
- The computer has to be kept at 3.2 kelvi
- And at a magnetic field 200,00 times the strength of the earths.
Still...imagine the amout of data you could store in the volume of curent computer drive.
